![]() TREATMENT A scrape showed no evidence of parasites. The fish was put into a hospital tank with its own filtration and NO SALT. The temperature of the water was increased from 78oF to 86oF in 1 day, and 1/8 teaspoon of epsom salts per 5 gallons added. The fish was fed romet B antibiotic food for a month. When the blisters erupted after about 5 days in isolation, I used a single treatment with oxolinic acid. 3 days later, a complete water change was done to remove all the oxolinic as it then becomes toxic for the fish. |
![]() Here is another view of the fish at this advanced stage of dropsy. The scales stick out, the body balloons behind the head. |
