To our family and friends:
This morning we lost our beautiful, beautiful Jett. He was just six years old.   I took him in for teeth cleaning, placed him in the vet Tec's arms as he looked at me with terrified eyes....and told him  " They will take good care of you".  The vet said that his heart beat got slower and slower......CPR was tried.    We are in shock. There are no words in any language that could tell you how much we loved that dog, and he us.  Jett was our very first Papillon..... truly loving, loyal, happy, never met anyone he didn't like......and because of the happiness he brought to our lives, we wanted more.   Thank God we have Rachel and her two girls for us to hold onto tonight....for we are dying inside.  I have screamed at the unfairness of it, how senseless and cruel...... continue to cry with no end in sight....the ache worsens with every moment.
We have brought him home, and tomorrow, he will be cremated.   When the day comes that I die, he will be buried with me.  Perhaps  because we have no children, we have wrapped our lives around these tiny angels........and today, in the blink of an eye.....we lost the jewel in our crown.

For those of you who have lost a pet, there is a site (http://www.petloss.com/) that helps people cope with their grief.  Every Monday night at 7PM PST there is a candle ceremony  for deceased furbabies.  After this there is a chat.
Small dogs are sensitive to anesthetics.  Isoflurane is highly recommended as being much safer than halothane.  Sometimes it costs a bit more, but is worth every penny.
